Ready to move on to advanced recreational training programs?
Technical SCUBA training is for the experienced sport diver looking to move on to advanced recreational training programs. The reasons are many for this.. the desire to dive deeper, in overhead environments, or use advanced dive planning with required decompression. The gear requirements change with this level of diving as well, divers are required to use sidemount, manifolded double tanks, or rebreathers; and carry redundant equipment. Emphasis is also now placed on team based diving, contingency gas planning, emergency procedures.
The TDI Nitrox Diver course ($225+HST) was designed for divers who wish to move beyond using a computer to managed planned nitrox dives, and to learn the theory behind it. This is for experienced divers with a minimum of Advanced Adventurer certification and 25 dives. Includes Instructor pre-requisites in addition to the requirements of the certifying agency.
The Introduction to Technical Diving (backmount or sidemount) course ($375+HST) was designed for divers who are interested to learn about technical diving, to improve their trim and buoyancy skills, or to streamline their gear configuration. This is for experienced divers with a minimum of Advanced Adventurer certification and 25 dives. A typical course includes one hour of pool time, and four open water dives. However, some students may require more time in the water and the course time/cost adjusted accordingly.
We are pleased to offer e-learning options for all of our technical courses! This does NOT take the place of getting underwater with your instructor, but it does save valuable classroom time.
Introduction to Technical Diving is a requirement for the following courses:
The TDI Advanced Nitrox course ($495+HST, minimum class size 2) is for divers looking to make use of mixes from EAN-21 through 100% Oxygen for mixes used up to 130fsw. The objective of this course is to train divers in the benefits , hazards, and proper procedures for utilizing EAN-21 through 100% Oxygen for dives not requiring staged decompression.
The TDI Decompression Procedures course ($495+HST, minimum class size 2) prepares divers for planned staged decompression diving. With a maximum certified depth of 150fsw, this course provides the first step beyond standard sport diver limits.
The TDI Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures are often combined ($795, minimum class size 2).
IANTD Advanced Recreational Trimix Diver course (minimum class size 2)
This Program is designed to extend the diver’s knowledge in the use of EANx for Sport diving. It further develops diving skills and provides a greater understanding of the EANx concept of diving. It is also intended to supplement the skills of Recreational Trimix Divers. The Program employs EANx mixes from 21% oxygen to a maximum of 1.5 PO2 combined with a Helium content that maintains an END no greater than 80 fsw (24 msw) may be used. This program qualifies divers to dive to 160 fsw (48 msw) and perform decompression stops required dives up to 15 minutes.
- Upgrade from Advanced Nitrox / Decompression Procedures, $505+HST
IANTD Normoxic Trimix Diver course (minimum class size 2)
This Program is designed to train those who wish to dive to depths between 130 fsw (39 msw) and 200 fsw (60 msw), but who do not wish to breathe air below 130 fsw (39 msw). Trimix affords a means of reducing narcosis on dives to such depths. The knowledge and skills taught in this program are more than adequate to qualify divers to perform Trimix Dives outside of training up to 200 fsw (60 msw).
(RB) This Program is further designed to train divers in the safer use of Rebreathers for dives using normoxic helium-based gas mixtures.
- Upgrade from Advanced Recreational Trimix, $495+HST
- Upgrade from Advanced Nitrox / Decompression Procedures, $1000+HST
